Auqaf Department, ICT is responsible for the management and maintenance of Mosques and Shrines located in Islamabad in line With the provisions of Federal Auqaf (Control) Act, 1976.
Functions & Objectives
- Management and maintenance of Auqaf Masajids and Shrines
- Appointment of Masajids/Shrine functionaries
- Provision of physical facilities to Masajids and Shrines
- Constitution of Masajid Committees in Auqaf as well in non-Auqaf masajids in Urban areas of Islamabad
- Holding of Naat and Qirat, Mehfil-e-Shabeena Competitions
- Holding of Urs and religious functions at the Auqaf-managed Shrines
- Development of the Complex of Hazrat Barri Imam (RA)
Sevices Offered
- Physicial facilities provided to 89 Auqaf managed Masajids in Islamabad such as Safs, Durrees, etc
- Payment of electricity & sui gas bills of 89 Auqaf managed masajids in Islamabad
- Organizing Naat, Mehfil-e-Shabeena competitions
- Special prayers in masajids to celebrate Independence Day, Pakistan Day and Eid Melad un Nabi with due fervor and Zeal. On the occasion of Eid-un-Nabi Shrines are illuminated
- An Ulema Advisory Committee is constituted in ICT representing all four Maslaks. The committee as and when required gives the best of their collective wisdom in resolving issues pertaining to masjids, their functionaries, etc
- Religious ceremonies at the shrines in order to provide better services to Zaireen
- Forwarding of registration cases of Deeni Madaris to concerned department
